In order to reduce weight and costs, automotive manufacturers are increasingly using nonvowen materials in their vehicles. It is a special product for interior flooring applications. It is of interest in automotive applications such as sound insulation, airbags, seat and belt materials, interior upholstery, sun visors, seat reinforcement and floor coverings.

It is also approved as a durable product for motor vehicle fires, particularly fires inside the vehicle from sources such as matches or cigarettes.
